Mystery of the Missing Clock

I woke up this morning to find that the clock above the bedroom door, the one that faces my bed, was missing. I did a double take then turned on all the lights to make sure that I was not imagining it.

But the clock was not there.

It could have fallen but there wasn’t any corpses of a clock anywhere. I went down on all fours to look under the bed but there was nothing but 2-weeks worth of dust and lint.

How is it possible for a clock to go missing? Who would steal a clock?

Could it be that I have been using the phrase “killing time” too often that the clock decided to run away?

Do I even want to know the answer to the mystery of the missing clock?

I feel like I am living in a Murakami novel.
