The Role Model

There used to be this drama series called The Pretender. The blurb for the show reads:

There are extraordinary individuals among us known as PRETENDERS. Geniuses with the ability to insinuate themselves into any walk of life, to literally become anyone. In 1963, a corporation called the Centre isolated one such PRETENDER, a young boy named Jarod. Locked in a controlled environment, they exploited his genius for their “unofficial” research. Then, one day, their PRETENDER ran away.

It was from this drama series that the notion that I could be whatever and whomever I wanted to be took roots.

I remember I used to watch and thought the main character looks like David Copperfield. Cool huh? Can be anyone and anybody at his fancy.

  2. Mcm david copperfield ke? hehe

actually I don’t follow the series, but I was very taken by the idea that you can be whatever/whomever you want to be. Sort of another way to say impossible is nothing.

  4. Nerr,

    1) Did you know it was based on a real life serial impostor by the name of Ferdinand Waldo Demara? Look him up. So, being able to be anyone and anything is not an impossibility.

    2) Series creators are reviving the show in digital platform i.e. streamed online; it may be aired as early as 2009!
