I don’t know where my glasses or my keys are. They have been missing since Thursday. I know I must have misplaced them somewhere, under the bed is the most likely answer, and I told myself that I will spend Sunday looking for them but of course I didn’t and thus started another week without glasses and keys.
Some people think I am snob. Well, yes I am. But more importantly, it is because I can’t see. You see, I am at that age where wearing glasses is no longer an option. But true to form, I only wear them when I absolutely have to, like when I watch a movie at the cinema or when I am in a meeting room and I happen to sit waaaaaaaaay at the back. Other times I’d rather people call me a snob.
Why don’t I wear contacts? I barely have the patience to wash my face in the morning you expect me to add another ritual to my already tight morning schedule that I have perfected over the years with army-like discipline? No. No. No. Besides, contacts make my eyes too dry and itchy.
Anyway, glasses aside, the last few weeks I have been a social butterfly. Now the thing about going to open houses and meeting people that you haven’t seen for ages is that they would always tell you that you look like someone.
My friends insist that I look like this girl. She is a child actor who is now carving out a singing career. Follow the link to see her blog:
My aunties, bless them, thought I’m a bit more glamourous and insisted that I am a fat(ter) version of this lady (they, too, are in dire need of glasses so please excuse them):
These are how I actually look like (no retouching whatsoever, the fat arms and messy hair and bad foundation, unfortunately, are all mine). Both pics taken during the recent bulan puasa. Oh yes, minor re-touching to the “glasses off” pic due to my racy black bra peeking out from the top of my sundress to say hello to Mr Khoo and Pn Chung.
What do you think (and yes I have been meaning to use the poll daddy feature that wordpress just launched and this is just perfect for that)?

Whole life losing your glasses. Ha ha. Remember what I used to say to pple?
“If you see her during the weekends and if she does not acknowledge you, it does not mean she ‘lansee’, it’s just that she’s not wearing her glasses.”

ya lah, I mana ada lansee. Rabun only.
BTW bakerzin’s place sudah tukar to this theodroma chocolatier or something (I could not read very well, see my post above re glasses), a lot like godiva cafe (which, much to my annoyance coz I only found out yesterday, has opened an outlet in KLCiCi); and Devi’s corner sudah tukar to chawan, which is a new kopitiam but with delicious prices
I am going to do my inspection this Thursday – and steering clear of La Bodega until enough time had passed and the waiters have forgotten what happened – will post you the pictures so that you won’t be so tak maju when you come back for Xmas.
I also ransacked my room last night but still could not find the glasses. Jumpa kunci only, it wasn’t under the bed but under the white sofa kat living room – how did it get there I have no idea. I think there is a toyol or gremlin living under the bed who keeps stealing and hiding my stuff. I should drop him/it a biscuit or two from time to time to feed it.
